Family Law Lawyer in Québec City

Sophie-Anne Roy earned a double bachelor’s degree in civil law and in international development and globalization from the University of Ottawa in 2022, graduating summa cum laude. She then completed her legal education by earning a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in common law from the University of Victoria in 2023. She has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 2024.

Before joining the Verreau Dufresne Avocats team, Roy practised at a reputable family law firm in Montréal, where she broadened her knowledge of family and estate law. She has courtroom experience before the Superior Court and the Court of Québec, Youth Division.

Fully bilingual, Roy supports her clients with rigour and empathy, in either French or English. Driven by a desire to help people going through difficult times, she favours a human approach centred on listening, transparency and compassion. Whatever direction your file takes, Roy will guide you with integrity and tailor her services to your specific needs.

In 2026, Roy completed the PIFE Institute’s training program on the lawyer’s role in the Supervised Family Intervention Process (PIFE). This systemic, interdisciplinary family intervention method is based on a structured protocol focused on the needs of the child, specifically in situations where parent-child contact has been cut off and the relationship is at risk of breaking down during a highly conflictual separation. Training lawyers in this intervention process fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and is an asset in finding solutions to restore the relationship and ease complex conflict dynamics.
